This does not have an impact on LHF, but I have followed this situation closely for some time. In my early days within property, I noticed a clause that no doubt would have fallen under the remit of this enquiry. Thankfully, I was able to garner the support of my neighbours to buy the freehold as a group and manage our own community.
It is clearly nothing short of criminal that these ground rent clauses have been allowed to continue for so long, and I am pleased for those affected that there is finally some sort of escape/compensation.
